Senators draft an open letter to FTC to investigate Google for anti-competitive behavior… In what can only be called a serious case of déjà vu, Senators Herb Kohl (D-WI) and Mike Lee (R-UT) published an open letter Monday directed at the Federal Trade Commission demanding that the agency investigate Google—once again—over its potentially anti-competitive behavior. Justice Department on pace to set a new record… This week the U.S. Justice Department reported that they secured more than $3 Billion in settlements and judgments arising from FCPA violations against the U.S. Government in the fiscal year ending on September of 2011. [MainJustice]
Operation Wide Receiver becomes the new target… The Justice Department Inspector General’s review of the “Fast and Furious” ATF program announced earlier this year will now include at least one other ATF investigations that used similar methods. According to documents released to investigators on Capitol Hill, Operation Wide Receiver was also run out of ATF’s division back in 2007 and has become the new target of the Justice Department.
